Like most elementary counselors I use a lot of children's books to teach about feelings in the classrooms, small groups, and with individuals. I also often share books with parents to read at home and provide a jumping off forum for parents to talk about strong feelings. One of my favorites is
Shy Spaghetti and Excited Eggs. I like it because it talks about both pleasant (comfortable) emotions and unpleasant (uncomfortable) ones. It also talks about how both types can be hard to handle when they have lots of energy. Watch one of the authors discuss the book.
